We try to run Island View like a place we would want to stay. Our few rules are just common courtesy:

  • No fireworks, shooting or other obscenely loud noises.
  • All pets must be on a leash at all times when outside. Mercer has a dog park now!
  • No cutting down trees. We supply free firewood. There is no reason to do this.
  • Please don’t annoy your neighbors!!
  • Please do not fog your yard or apply any other chemicals. The bugs can be bad, yes. But you are only here for a week. We live here and we don’t want that on our property.
  • Not sure why this has to be said, but please do not nail, screw or stick things to the cabin walls.
  • If your pet has an accident or wrecks something, please let us know ASAP. We will not be mad! Would just like to get it properly cleaned up or replaced sooner rather than later.

If there is no one in your cabin before or after you, these times can be flexible. Just ask! On Saturdays, we start cleaning as soon as people leave but we never know what order that will be in. 90% of the time all the cabins are ready by noon.

Remember:

  • We do not supply bath towels!
  • We DO supply kitchen rags, towels and a bath mat.
  • We have Starlink, but as of now it doesn’t reach much past the bar. Will get repeaters (?) in 2027 but do not count on wifi in your cabins. The porch of the bar is open 24/7 for wifi.
  • Every cabins has a charcoal grill but please bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid.
  • We supply coffee makers but please bring your own coffee.
  • We have no way to accept credit cards in the bar. If you have to use a card to pay for your cabin there will be an additional charge to cover the processing fees.
  • We supply all bedding and have plenty of extra blankets and pillows if you need any. Just let us know!
  • We do not sell bait or fishing licenses. There are two tackle shops in Mercer that do! You can also buy a license online here.
  • We want you to have a great time here. Please let us know if you have any special requests and we will do whatever we can within reason to make them happen. The lodge is available free of charge for parties (but it will still be open to the public).
