The One With the Goat on the Roof

Tucked away from the other cabins and disguised as a woodland cottage, Cabin 10 is one of the most unique places to stay at Island View Lodge.

The first thing you’ll notice is the goat on the roof. The second thing you’ll notice is that nobody seems particularly concerned about the goat on the roof.

Wrapped in greenery and surrounded by trees, Cabin 10 feels like something that wandered out of a storybook and settled down in the Northwoods. Inside you’ll find whimsical touches throughout, from woodland décor and mushroom accents to a cozy electric fireplace and screened porch overlooking the forest.

Unlike the lakefront cabins, Cabin 10 sits by itself. There are no cabin neighbors, no shared yard, and plenty of room to spread out. The lake and bar are still just a short walk away, but when you’re ready to retreat, you’ll have your own private corner of the resort waiting for you.

Outside, Cabin 10 boasts the largest yard on the property, complete with a fire pit, free firewood, a new metal gazebo, and plenty of room for vehicles, boat trailers, side-by-sides, a second life, etc.

Inside you’ll find two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with a double bed, a full kitchen, a cozy sitting area, and a surprisingly spacious bathroom. There is no formal dining table, just a countertop with stools, because you need to go outside.

The screened porch may become your favorite spot of all. Enjoy your morning coffee while watching hummingbirds, deer, and wild turkeys wander through the woods. It’s also an excellent place to keep an eye on resort arrivals and determine whether anyone else noticed the goat.

Cabin 10 is for guests who prefer charm over perfection, personality over polish, and cottages with rooftop livestock over ordinary vacation rentals.

Pets are welcome and stay for free in all of our cabins!

Pricing

Cabin 10 is $1000.00 per week (Saturday to Saturday). Pets stay free! Weekly stays are not required in September or at the last minute. Please just call or email. In September we switch to a two night minimum. Our prices do not include 5.5% sales tax.
